FRENCHMAN?

Oddly enough I drew this while on a trip to Charleston, SC. It was a gorgeous, sunny day out but for some reason I had skiing on the brain. I see this character as a Frenchman who'd frequent the Alps.

When flights get boring, as they usually do, I tend to draw the backs of the passengers heads sitting in the seats in front of me.

I used to see this guy all the time at the coffee shop my girlfriend and I frequent. He's such a character, I couldn't help but draw him. Unfortunately, he hasn't been around in months - hope he's allright!

I put together this video for a few of reasons. Number one was the fact that I've been meaning to do a time lapse video such as this for months because I've seen many other artists whom I have an emormous amount of respect for do the same and seeing their process was and is always such a thrill. The second reason was to put to rest the idea that digital work is the 'easy way out.' Third and final reason was to pay respect to one of my favorite illustrators, Jeremy Fish.
This is a time lapse video I put together of myself drawing some custom graphics on my girlfriends surfboard. The clients demands were pretty straight forward, turtles and flowers on the front and the quote "love life, be brave" on the back. Working for your better half can be tough at times but the pay off is totally worth it! =D
